Pour yourself a cup of what you prefer to occupy your cup, and read on...
When we hear the word "destiny" do we find it hard to relate to, or is it something beyond our reach. I find the word "destiny" has a nice ring to it. One that we all want on our finger, right (a slight play on words)? But you get the point. I don't know about you, but I want destiny attached to my name.
Does it seem a bit scary? Okay. Sometimes we really need a bit of scary to propel us in the right direction toward steps to be the best version of ourselves. Who wants to settle for mediocre? Not me! Here we are entering a new decade... 2020. What is your daily narrative? How are you setting yourself up to accomplish your goals and dreams? Let's put things in perspective.
#1: YOU ARE IN THE DRIVERS SEAT. Do you enjoy being a passenger? Most people do not like not having control over the navigation of the vehicle. When driving we want to know what and when they're going to do.“If it is to be, it is up to me.” A sense of destiny propels our thoughts and actions to a higher place and offers us purpose. We have something to shoot for. You have a destiny attached to your life because you were created in God's image to be a reflection of His glory. God is your navigator; He holds the map to your destiny.
Matthew 6:33
But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.
#2: YOU IMPACT THE LIVES OF YOUR AUDIENCE. We all have people watching how we live our life, especially if you are a Christian. The influence you have is either positive or negative and based on the choices you make. Think of those who have influenced your choices and the direction of your life. Two women who have powerfully influenced my life are Patricia King and Christine Caine. I like to think of it as a "barrel of monkeys" philosophy. Do you remember this childhood game? My dear friend, Shelli gave a barrel of monkeys to me when we arrived in Rochester, New York. Your life is interwoven into others and when you go through the valleys, at the moment you rise out of the mire, you bring with you those who have caught your vibe or who line up with your thoughts and beliefs. They want to be there. They are inspired by who you are in the midst of it all. I LOVE THIS... You do not come out alone, but you link arms with others like the barrel of monkeys. Your impact is limitless when you are connected to Jesus; the Author and finisher of your faith.
Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the LORD your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake.
#3: IT IS WHAT YOU WERE CREATED FOR. Each of us was created in the image of God to be a reflection of His glory. (If you have not made Jesus the Leader of your life, I would love to pray with you to make that happen). There are many ways to express, live out, and have an influence in regards to your destiny. The journey, no matter how challenging, is worth it. I was in a nearly fatal auto accident during my senior year of high school. My body crushed, I was "code blue" three times on the way to the hospital, comatose 16 days, and I suffered a stroke while in the coma. I had to learn how to walk and talk, again. God's plans are good, pleasing and perfect for me. Death could not hold me. This accident was one of the best things that happened to me. It was a gift that I am now opening. Life is meant to be lived with the intention to give it away. My passion is to empower women (or whoever is listening) to be the best version of themselves. If your passion is writing, then write your heart out. If your passion is a sport, then play hard with all your might. Whatever passion stirs deep within you, don't put it on the shelf. Pray that God would nourish that seed to grow and flourish into everything He desires it to be.
Romans 8:28
All things work for the good for those who love God and are called according to His purposes.
I am here to walk with you on your journey. DM me with your goals, so I can celebrate you when you kill them!
