Why did the hipster burn her tongue? Because she drank her coffee before it was cool.

Life in the fast lane. That’s the craziness we all find ourselves in, right? Self-imposed at times, but if we are honest with ourselves it is that we are trying to keep up with everything going on around us. Is it worth the fatigue, anxiety, and keeping up with expectations of everyone else? I think not. Sometimes I find myself being a people-pleaser, instead of a God-pleaser. I end up totally bummed most time I do this, because those I try to please are often not happy with the outcome. My plans to please others backfires. “It is chasing after the wind,” in the Song of Solomon.
Stop! Look up. Inhale. Exhale. Just breathe…
Beautiful, you were not created to walk out anyone else’s agenda. You were created in God’s image to reflect His glory, not your neighbor’s! As we focus on God and the plan He has for us that is good, pleasing and perfect grab a verse or passage to take with you through the day. This will bring encouragement and focus for your journey through everything today holds. It will be on your mind to pull you up when you are dished up something you weren’t expecting. Pick up your Manual for Life (the Bible), open it, and allow it to give you perspective to overcome “life in the fast lane!" Rise above! It is your time!
